Chinese New Year

Lately, the few cab drivers I had conversations with since the turn of the year is always about Chinese New Year!!!

Don't know, maybe being married to a westerner for about 10 year previously, Chinese New Year was not a big thing in our lives then.

It always an argument about he had to pay my parents a visit as a respect of Elders and he stubbornly rejected it. To the point that I gave up convincing him and just went with Jc in those years!!!

It was the most lonely time for me being a married woman in those years!!! Having Jc with me was a comfort, but this year Jc not even keen to come for reunion dinner nor the CNY meet up if any. So it's nothing for me to look forward to!!!

It's more of an obligation rather than an enjoyment. Also, as I only have one kid and my siblings more than 1, so it's about I giving out more red packets to them!!! So it's about blessing them!!!

So not really fun event for me!!!

Generally I just bought those seasonal cookies and fruit that ex, me and Jc would enjoy!!!

But this divorce did change a lot!!! Not just for me, but for ex too!!! We didn't enjoy the food as much as previous. That ex also didn't enjoy his Christmas, his must have food items too!!!

But for my siblings and me, we are more fond of the Christmas get-together. It's a happy time with food and weird Christmas songs and the big Christmas Tree and the presents for the children!!! Opening the presents were an fun event!!!

Mum tried to do a get together for Chinese New Year but somehow, it wasn't fun, more of an obligation!!! Mum want us to stay in touch even when they are not around!!! She is a woman that think far ahead!!!

Now, being alone, only have the Lord with me, yet to work for Him, and His Blessing is still not in the Horizon, Chinese New Year is not a look forward day for me, as being single again but if anything left, it's about digging my saving for those Red Packets!!!

I know it's about returning to the Chinese Roots again. It an area I have to re-adapt to again in future!!! At this point, I am not thinking!!!

Plus I know blessing is from the Lord, so looking for a new blessed year in a Chinese New Year mean nothing to me!!!

It's not about the year of the animal nor the birth date!!! But it's about the blessedness that came from the Finished Work of JESUS Christ 2000 years ago!!!
